The SCORE Study

Self-Comforting and Coping for Resilience and Emotional Regulation (SCORE): A Randomized Controlled Trial Exploring the Effects of Self-Comforting Behaviors on Emotional Regulation and Academic Resilience in Students Facing Academic Failure

Are you a student at GBS (Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, or London)?

Are you ready to help shape a better future for students dealing with academic stress? We invite you to join our research study, designed to explore effective ways to cope with academic challenges. In our study, you'll be asked to share your experiences, stress levels, and academic journey through a series of short surveys over several weeks.

As part of the study, you will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. If you are in the intervention group, you’ll have the chance to participate in interactive sessions where you can learn practical techniques such as mindfulness, meditation, and other stress-relief exercises that might help you manage stress and build resilience. However, if you are assigned to the control group, you won’t receive these sessions. Instead, your regular routines will continue, and you’ll only complete the surveys.

Regardless of the group you join, your input is essential. By contributing your honest feedback and experiences, you will help us understand the challenges students face and the impact these strategies may have on reducing stress and improving academic confidence. Your participation will pave the way for future support programmes that can make a real difference for students everywhere.

Join us in this collaborative effort to transform academic setbacks into opportunities for growth. Your voice matters, and together we can create a more supportive, resilient academic community.
